Problem Scenario
My question is worth asking because it would help kids have good selections from both longer or shorter versions of four different planes.

Which design of paper airplane goes farthest in distance longer or shorter versions?
Hypothesis
One type will go farther while the others don't goes as far as the first one.

Its in a closed area so it could hit the wall and not go until it lands to measure. People go through the area so they could walk in front by accident and it stops flying until it falls.

Background Research:
There are some ways to get more supporting information on my project. Using the web and looking up Paper Airplane Designs then add longer or shorter. Then click on a plane u like but it depends on how many sheets of paper it needs if u choose for the first one with two sheets all of the rest has to be two sheets or if u choose one with one sheet all needs one sheet.
If you use different measurements it might be easier to record the data and you could have more flights of Planes. Why because kids of younger age could easily can be able to measure it then using a meter stick and having them find it in feet.Also it would be easier when measuring it might get more reliable data points for a better outcome. It would make for a better project and more side questions to answer when you have already solved the specific question. To make the better project it would be able for better data use different measurements other then just feet and meters.
Also It might make for better data as different places to throw them. Inside and out could be more reliable. Use four groups two longer and two shorter but use the same planes but for a different throwing settings .Also you could do the same thing but with four different types of planes a new group for each setting. Or you could manipulate the setting by having a wind current.
Also if you wanted to compare how much paper works better one or two pieces you could look up the designs with one or two sheets of paper and you could easily get more designs. Also more data points then more averages to make sure which amount of paper works the best for another continuation of the project. Finding the appropriate paper for the planes. Then finding four different planes for longer versions and shorter versions.
Detailed Procedure
1.Get eight pieces of paper.
2.Fold in to two different categories longer and shorter.
3.Get two meter sticks once done folding the paper airplanes.
4.Go to an open area and check for wind proceed with wind current then another without wind.
5.Throw the first version of your choice with four tries for each plane.
6.Record the distance in meters.
7.Repeat steps 5-6 to complete but if you have more versions repeat 5-7 until all sets have been done.
8.Record data in a graph.
9.Find the averages for each plane.
10.Then make your conclusion for which design type to see which design works better.

For the longer versions type 1 had 2.95 for the first try, .31 for the second try, 1 first .38 for the third try, and 1.2 for the fourth try. The second type had 2.97 for the first try, 3.61 for the second try, 3.11 for the third try, and 1.5 for the fourth try.The third type had 2.5 for the first try, 3.29 for the second try, .73 for the third try,and 1.21 for the fourth try. The fourth type had .31 for the first try, 1.8 for the second try, .81 for the third try, and 2.4 for the first try.
For the shorter version for the first type it had 4.66 for the first try, 3.62 for the second try, 4.55 for the third, and 4.62 for the last try. For the second type it had 1.33 for the first try, 1.40 for the second try, 1.81 for the third try, and 2.46 for the last try. For the third type it had 1.29 for the first try, 1.36 for the second try, 3.99 for the third try, and 1.21 for the last try. Discussion
The trend of the data is slightly going up then down significantly.The hypothesis graph was off target but on some of the planes had correct data or very close to what the actual data had. Some of the errors had to do with the different wind current and it was in an enclosed area so it might not go as far without the wind then with.Whoever would try re conduct this project would want to try doing the experiment outside and inside for both type of planes.Also to try it with the wind current and an open area to get better project results.The benefits would be to have kids make a paper airplane worth making an throwing. it would also allow kids to be more preoccupied but for the benefit of science it would allow scientists allow them to get better data with more tries and different types of paper airplanes.To Improve or get ore data try outside and inside of a building.Also try with and without wind current. Or with more groups and paper planes to get more data and further into the experiment.

Abstract

First I made two groups longer and shorter four for each group fitting that category. I made two graphs and flew each plane four ties.Then I collected the data and rounded the averages.Then I put all the data into a double bar graph for each category and put it into then I did the same for each averages for each plane. Then I found out Which planes are better to fly longer or shorter from the averages of the planes.
